A dash is a punctuation mark that is used to separate or emphasize information within a sentence. It is longer than a hyphen and can be used in place of commas, parentheses, or colons to create a pause or break in the sentence. Dashes can add emphasis, provide additional information, or set off a phrase for clarity or emphasis. **

When using apposition, both commas and dashes can be used to set off the appositive phrase. Commas are more commonly used and create a lighter separation between the appositive and the rest of the sentence. Dashes, on the other hand, create a stronger break and can be used for emphasis or to draw attention to the appositive. Ultimately, the choice between comma and dash depends on the writer's preference and the desired tone of the sentence. **

The decision to drop philosophy or art depends on your personal interests, career goals, and academic strengths. Consider which subject you are more passionate about and which one aligns better with your long-term aspirations. If you are struggling in one subject but excel in the other, it may be worth dropping the one that is causing difficulties. Ultimately, choose the subject that will bring you the most fulfillment and success in the future. **
